Crypsis: Mimicry & Camouflage

All of the insects or spiders in the photo gallery are displaying some sort of color and form adaptation that helps them blend into their environment by looking like the plant they feed on or the habitat they most frequent or by looking like something menacing or unsavory.  The photos speak for themselves regarding the intensity of the selection pressures that would lead to such exquisite detail.  Many of these insects also exhibit behaviors that reinforce their look, such as insects that resemble dead leaves swaying from side to side as if they are being blown by the wind.
